Austin Certified Arborist Professional Memberships

Austin Tree Specialists and/or Pat Wentworth are members of or are associated with a variety of professional organizations.

ISAISA - International Society of Arboriculture is the premier worldwide educational non-profit organization training arborist all over the world. Pat has been on the ISA Texas Chapter Board of Directors since 1989 and has served as President of the Texas Chapter on 2 occasions. Pat is currently the Certification Liaison and chair in charge of certifying arborists for the entire state of Texas. He has served at this position since ISA certification's inception in 1992.

Pat was in the first group of 17 people to become certified in Texas in 1992. Pat's ISA Certification number is TX-0119. Working closely with Pat is his foreman, Jay Waits whose ISA Certification number is TX-0299a.

ASCAASCA - The American Society of Consulting Arborists is comprised of the very best arborists in the country. Pat Wentworth has gone through the ASCA Consulting Academy and graduated with the very first class.

Society Of Commercial Arborists - Pat has been a member of the SCA for the last 18 years.

Utility Arborists Association - Pat has been a member of the UAA for 15 years and works closely with the City crews clearing lines in our client's yards. Electric line clearance is a very dangerous but necessary process. In 1994, Pat was responsible for developing the City of Austin Electric Department pruning specifications. (Prior to 1994, line clearance contractors working for the City were using out dated pruning practices.)

Austin Urban Forestry Board - Pat was unanimously elected by the City Council to serve on the Austin Urban Forestry Board for 6 years. He served as Board Chairman for 3 of those years and was instrumental in passing ordinances which govern the care and pruning of trees on City property and City right-of-ways.

Austin Tree Trimming Task Force - Pat's most recent board assignment was to serve as the vice chair of the Austin Tree Trimming Task Force which looked into the practices of utility line clearance by Austin Energy.

Project GreenScape - Pat was part of the committee that was formed to help with the restoration of the State Capital Grounds in the early eighties and helped with the replacement of trees along Congress Ave.

Austin ReLeaf - A non-profit tree planting group, Pat served as President, Vice President, and Treasurer of this organization over its 4 year existence.

Central Texas Arborist Association - Pat founded this group in 1986 to help train others in the tree care industry on proper tree care. Pat served as both president and vice president of this organization twice and was the editor of the monthly newsletter for 10 years.

Tree Folks - Pat helped with several of the first tree plantings put on by Tree Folks serving as a planting supervisor.
